Washington → Texas electrician license reciprocity
Taking a Washington certificate into Texas means a TDLR application and usually the Texas exam. L&I can provide licensing verification for the destination board — start that request while your WA card is current.

From the board
- Electrical Contractor To engage in the business of the electrical construction trade, you must get an electrical contractor license from L&I.
- - General electrical (01) contractors are licensed to perform all types of electrical and telecommunications installations.
- - Specialty electrical contractors are licensed to perform work within a category described in WAC 296-46B-920(2).
- All work performed must be done by properly certified electricians.

Path
- Request L&I verification for the Texas board (forms and fees as L&I publishes)
- File the TDLR application for your target class with experience evidence
- Sit the PSI exam after TDLR eligibility — do not assume WA scores transfer
Watch-outs
- Administrator certification alone does not authorize Texas trade work
- Specialty certificates (02, 06, etc.) do not equal general journey (01) when mapping classes
